This is the step by step guide on how to install and upgrade the Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 to 2.3.4 Gingerbread (S5570XXKPI) firmware update using or flashing it with ODIN multi downloader tool.

Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread S5570XXKPI Firmware Update Step by Step Flashing Procedures on Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 :
1) Turn off your Samsung Galaxy Mini. Remove your SIM Card and SD Card, just to avoid any issues
2) Extract the previously downloaded S5570XXKPI firmware packaged.
3) Run ODIN Multi Downloader v4.38.exe on your Desktop.

4) Tick the OPS button then select TASS.OPS from extracted archive and load it.
On ODIN check these checkboxes options: Protect OPS and Reset Time.

Click BOOT button then select and load the bootloader file:

Click PHONE button then select and load the AMSS file:

5) Reboot the Samsung Galaxy Mini into Download mode by pressing
( Volume Down + OK + Power )

6)  After you see that the device is in downloading mode, then connect the phone to PC. The COM:PORT mapping will show you a yellow indication if the device is already detected.
7)  Hit the "Start" button to start flashing...
8) Wait until the program will finished downloading all the binary files. It just takes around 5 minutes to complete. A word "PASS" will display on the left side square if the flashing successfully completes.

The Galaxy Mini will then reboot... If all things successfully done, you may then confirm the newly downloaded firmware version name etc by typing *#1234# or through About Phone Settings.

  1. Download One click root tool for SGS GT-I9000
  2. Enable USB Debugging mode: Go to Menu > Settings > Applications > Development and check USB Debugging.
  3. Download USB Device Drivers for Windows. (If you have installed Samsung Kies then skip this step)
  4. Connect your Device to PC / Laptop using USB Cable.
  5. Launch Galaxy S I9000 One-Click Root.exe from the downloaded tool.

Click on the button One click Root 2.1 (for Eclair) and One Click Root 2.2 (for Froyo) Unrooting is currently only available for 2.1 Eclair builds only.

Your Device will now restart automatically in recovery mode. Using the volume keys on left to navigate to the second option reading “Apply Update.zip” and press Home key in middle bottom. After the processing, Phone will reboot again and it is rooted. Please note: Do not unplug USB cable during this complete procedure.

Now, you will see a different icon in your application list called “SuperUser Permission” which means your Samsung Galaxy GT-I9000 is now rooted successfully. Now on, while installing some apps like “screenshot” or any theme, window will pop up asking for Super User permission for complete use.
